Mist: The Queens Counsel pt 3 The soft morning light filtered through the heavy velvet drapes that lined the wall of Guiniveres' bed chamber, a stray sunbeam framed the long black hair of Catdancer as it lay on the piled pillows on the floor, the same sunbeam caught the glint of Guiniveres' hair and shone into her eyes, waking her up, she stretched luxuriously, she opened her eyes and looked straight into the slightly curious gaze of Catdancer. Memories of the night before came flooding back and she blushed, Catdancer laughed, a low throaty chuckle, Guinivere lowered her eyes as she remembered the passion with which she had pursued the B'eundil, and of Mouser, she turned to look at him, and found that Cat was also regarding his sleeping form with a tender smile. "He's very impressive, isn't he" Guinivere nodded her head, "very impressive indeed, though I doubt that The Lady would approve of his use of his powers like that, she cautioned us to use them only in need, and I doubt that she would see the same need that we did". There was a short laugh from Mousers' direction, "there is need my love and then there is NEED, I was in no doubt as to which one it was last night" both Catdancer and Guinivere laughed, "and tell me my ladies" and Mouser untangled himself from the sheets on the floor, stood up and bowed gracefully, the fact that he was naked detracted none from his innate grace, "and tell me my ladies, did Mouser dissapoint either of you last night?" "On the contrary My Prince," Guinivere replied, "both of us are in awe of your abilities, and indeed, I am quite stunned, you have impressed me before with your delightful talents, but you excelled yourself last night, I humbly abase myself at your feet" and with that Guinivere sank gracefully to the floor at Mousers feet and touched her head to the floor. Mouser laughed long and loud, then said in a teasing tone, "well my Love, since you are down there, it seems wicked to waste such a perfect opportunity". Guinivere looked up and saw the proud flesh of Mousers's manhood standing erect, looking across she could see Catdancer licking her lips, and was aware of her own arousal, before she could take advantage of the situation, there came a thundering knock at the door of her bedchamber. Guinivere sighed, Mouser held out his hand to Catdancer, they both bowed in unison in Guiniveres' direction, then Mouser reached out and opened a door into reality, and he and Catdancer stepped through it, there was a faint shimmer and she heard Mouser say that he would return that night with more news. Looking around the dishevelled bed chamber, and hearing again the almost frenetic knocking on the door, she quickly cast several spells and within minutes the sheets and pillows were back on the bed, and Guinivere was dressed in hers customary attire, she removed the wards from around the room, and called out, "Enter". The door to her bedchamber was flung open and her maid almost fell into the room, "M'lady, M'lady, you must come at once the King has returned and he wishes to speak to you, immediately". Guinivere was startled, Arthur was not due to return for another 5-6 weeks, something must have happened to make him abandon his tour of the Kingdom. Catching some of the maids' haste, Guinivere hurried down the corridors and hallways, this was a becoming a habit, she either seemed to be hurrying up them in a foul mood, beset by petty problems and petty people, or hurrying down them beset by worry and bad news, feeling slightly breathless she fetched up outside Arthurs rooms, raising her hand to knock she was forestalled by Arthur flinging open the door and roaring, "Where is Guinivere, fetch her her immediately!!" He had the grace to look abashed and apologised for yelling, almost in her face, he ushered her into his chambers and bade her sit down, he then started pacing up and down the room, muttering under his breath. "My Lord, what is the matter, pray tell me" Arthur turned and looked at Guinivere, the look he gave her was almost speculative, for no reason that she could discern, she started to blush, it was almost as if Arthur knew some of what had transpired last night, she shook her head, but that was impossible, it would have taken a powerful magic adept to break the wards that she and Mouser had erected, and they would have felt the breakage, no matter how....involved they had been last night. Arthur cleared his throat and began to speak, "I know you think me somewhat distant, Guinivere, more concerned with running the kingdom than anything else, this is true, but do not ever think that I do not care for you, because I do Guinivere, in my own way, and the news that I have heard has caused me enough concern to detour from my set course and come here and speak to you immediately" Guinivere sat rooted to the chair, her mind spinning, with endless questions and thundering suspicions, her immediate thought was that somehow Arthur had become aware of her connection with the People of the Sidhe, and that she was half Sidhe herself, she knew her Guardian suspected something, but he was an old dear and totally loyal and would never act on suppositions, but no, it could not be, if that was the case she would not be sitting here, Arthurs' duty would be clear, she would now be on her way to the headsman, magic was outlawed in the Land, and Queen or not she would be executed for her crimes.
